Hattie’s Personality

She’s funny – she rolls, plays, mews at you, and sits in random places.

She’s respectful – she doesn’t knock things over, get into plants, or scratch the couch. She literally only scratches her cat tree!

She’s got personality – when she wants something she will let you know by telling you. Food is coming out too slow! Why aren’t you petting me? Meow meow

She’s very loving – she will like to be close to you, in the same room sitting with you or on you, for as long as you will let her. She likes to knead your tummy and purr a lot!

She’s social – when we have guests come over, she doesn’t hide upstairs. She loves to rub her cheeks on our guests feet!

Hattie’s Current Home Environment

My husband and I live in a townhouse where Hattie is able to roam freely. We don’t have overnight guests, but entertain family and friends every so often.

Hattie occasionally comes out onto our patio and likes to watch the birds fly overhead, she has never attempted to leave the patio and will sleep in the sunbeams in the afternoon. We used to have a cat bed for her, but she preferred to sleep at the foot of our bed so we got rid of them. Our home environment is pretty quiet and mellow.

Hattie’s Current Family:

Our family consists of my husband, me, and our new baby. I am at home in the day with baby and Hattie. We travel on short trips lasting from a few days to a week. We always have a cat sitter (our nice neighbor) to spend time with Hattie, feed her dinner, and play with her a little.

Now, the baby chases Hattie around (Hattie doesn’t like this, but she is very nice towards the baby, and when it gets to be too much she avoids the baby).

Hattie’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Favorite toys: pipe cleaner wrapped into a circle, hair ties, catnip spray

Favorite foods: Hattie loves eating, especially treats. She is on an indoor cat “diet” food because she loves eating so much! She absolutely loves the cat snacks “Churu” which are those fish/chicken/shrimp flavored squeeze pouches. She also likes freeze dried chicken and shrimp.

Favorite activities: sitting in boxes, napping in sunbeams, getting chin and ear scratches, purring in your lap, kneading biscuits on your tummy, watching birds outside, getting a good brushing

Cute Hattie Story:

There’s no one story to tell, Hattie just has lots of little amusing quirks. She likes to go underneath our bed, which actually involves opening an under-bed storage drawer, which she can do. She pokes her head just around the corner from the top of the stairs when we call her. She rolls on her back a lot revealing her girth and pink tummy. She likes a light tug on her tail and pulling it through your hands while getting pet. She ‘commands’ you to follow if she’s really hungry and you’re dragging your feet.

Why is Hattie Being Rehomed?

We now have a 9 month old baby girl and a lot of things have changed for Hattie. Space that she used to enjoy freely is now our daughter’s space. Whenever we let our daughter play in the open, she wants to touch Hattie, which of course, Hattie does not want.

Hattie only comes to us to get fed and when our daughter is sleeping, when she knows she won’t be bothered and can relax. We haven’t been able to keep Hattie as active and engaged as before now that we have our daughter to take care of.

We want Hattie to have a fulfilling life in a relaxing environment and still get the attention she needs and deserves.

Hattie’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Hattie would enjoy a relaxing home environment without loud noises or things to avoid (i.e. dogs or young children). She will eventually claim every space as her own when she feels comfortable, so you don’t need to afford too much of her ‘own’ space for sleeping/lounging. As long as she can be fed and given attention through petting, brushing and occasional play, she will be a happy cat.
