Hi, My name is OX!

Is your idea of a workout a trip from the couch to the refrigerator and back? Are you laid back and lazy, preferring to binge watch Netflix rather than compete in a Triathlon?

If that’s you, I am your perfect match. Despite my long and lean physique, I am the world’s laziest dog. I hate going for long walks! Cuddling on the couch, on the other hand, is something I revel in!

I am a very healthy Blue-Tick Coonhound mix. I am just 3 to 5 years old and extremely handsome and well behaved. I am a shy soul. It takes me a while to warm up to people, but once you have my trust, I am your most loyal friend and companion. I am neutered, up to date on my shots, crate trained, house broken and very well behaved.

I love children and adults, and get along very well with other dogs. I don’t like to go to the dog park, though – too much noise and commotion for me.

My only issue (if you really could call it an issue) is that I don’t care for loud noises. Thunder, fireworks or sudden large noises scare the living daylights out of me.  I am also kind of fearful of buses and bikes. City living really isn’t for me, but a home in the country with a nice, securely fenced yard would be ideal. I would love the quiet of country life.

Having a great family to cherish me is also on my wish list. I want someone to devote myself to, who will appreciate a low-key, low maintenance, low-energy pooch like me.

I have such a handsome face and unique markings. Definitely one of “nature’s designer dogs”.

My owner loves me to bits, but he is a very active person. He had hoped I would go with him on runs, hiking and other activities, but I am more of a homebody. I really need to be in a country home where I can stay in my comfortable surroundings. A nice back yard to explore at my own pace, and some nice kids to spend time with would be perfect for me.

Personality

loving, lazy, with moments of normalcy. Ox is a couch potato. Sitting around, gnawing on Kongs is his dream life. While he has done great at day cares, he is not the biggest fan of dog parks. He loves the snow, but hates loud noises. His biggest fears include buses and bikes.

Reason For Rehoming

The primary reason is that I don’t think Ox is happy. We have very different personalities, and I think he would be happier in a different setting. He is a very sweet and loving dog, but he is just a big lazy couch potato. I need a workout partner, and getting him to walk for more then 15 min is a big challenge.
