When Maggie’s owner passed away suddenly at home, she urgently needed a home. After receiving an urgent call from her owner’s family, our rehoming team got to work right away. Maggie found her forever home in just 1 day! We were so thankful and pleased to have been able to connect Maggie’s owner’s bereaved sister with Fred, a semi-retired minister who had been hoping to find a great dog like Maggie to adopt. Maggie and Fred are enjoying their happy ending, while her original owners’ family have peace of mind knowing that Maggie is being loved and well cared for by Fred.

Here is how our rehoming team presented Maggie to attract her new owner:

Hi, My name is Maggie!

Golden retriever mix for adoption in garland tx 2

Are you looking for a canine ray of sunshine to add immeasurable love, joy, laughter and companionship to your life? Meet Maggie, a gorgeous cream and white shaggy dog. She looks to be a Golden Retriever / Lhasa Apso / Terrier Mix. She is just 6 years old and relatively small at 25 pounds. Maggie is spayed, up to date on her shots and very healthy. She lives in Garland, Texas

Golden retriever mix for adoption in garland txMaggie was the beloved companion of an elderly lady who, unfortunately, had to enter a senior facility. Maggie went to live with her owner’s daughter, where she was cherished. Sadly, on July 19, 2016, the daughter suddenly passed away, leaving Maggie with no home and nobody to love her.

This little dog is so sweet! She is a little on the shy side, having possibly been abused before she was adopted from a shelter by her original owner. She’s very well behaved, loves to play and be active, and is perfectly house broken. Maggie is not used to other dogs or cats, so it is unknown how she would do. She would be fine with older, well behaved children.

She would be the perfect companion for a senior couple or single, but also would be a good choice for a loving family with lots of time to spend with her.

Please offer this incredibly sweet, bereaved dog the loving home she needs and very much deserves. Please fill out our online information form below. Once received, we will contact you to arrange a convenient time for you to meet Maggie.

Maggie’s Current Home Environment

Lived with two elderly ladies. Mom was 93 and taken to assisted living in January. Stayed with my 67 year old sister Until her sudden death last night. Free reign of home and fenced in back yard.

Maggie’s Current Family:

Two elderly ladies kept and spoiled her until one had to leave. Then she’s been looked after by my 67 year old sister.

Maggie’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Any kinds of “babies”, dog stuffed animals. Running in yard and chasing squirrels.

Cute Maggie Story:

She is just the sweetest dog and when my mother was getting to the point she had trouble getting around the house she would stay with her, right by her side and make sure she never fell or got hurt. She was very loyal to my 93 year old mother. She would come to her bedside every morning and make sure she would get out of bed.

Why is Maggie Being Rehomed?

Mom had to go to assisted living and sister just died. I have several pets of all kind inside and outside my house and can’t give her the attention she needs.

Maggie’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Someone to take care of and live Maggie like my mom and sister did.
