Here is how our San Jose Pet Rehoming team presented Kona to attract her new owners:

Kona is a 4 month old female Australian Cattle Dog Mix Puppy for adoption to a very loving home in or near San Jose, California. This very special puppy weighs 14 lbs. She is healthy and up to date on vaccinations. Kona is currently in the process of being house trained, and is confined to a pen when her owner is not home.

She is a smart, loving and very cute puppy. She is looking for a home with owners who will continue her training and who can provide her with the right environment where she will thrive. She is very good with other dogs, and with older, respectful children.

Kona’s owner is hoping to find a warm and loving household that will provide Kona with a lot of mental and physical exercise. She learns very quickly and is very smart.

Kona is being placed for adoption by owner for the following reason:

I am having some housing issues with keeping my pet. I also have a heavier work load and timing is not great with my pet’s schedule. It is hard to take care of her even after I hired a person to come watch her in the middle of the day. My morning and night routines are irregular and I do not live with my family so it is difficult to ask others to help me watch her.

Kona’s Current Home Environment

My home is somewhat quiet with 3 other housemates. It is kept clean and Kona spends most of her alone time in the dining room in a pen as she is still in the process of being house trained. We have a backyard that Kona is learning how to potty in and she gets to run around to release her energy.

Kona’s Current Family:

I live with 3 female housemates and I am the sole caretaker of the puppy. One of my housemates also help take care of her and the other 2 only plays with her occasionally due to their schedule. My boyfriend also comes over a lot so she is pretty familiar with him as well. We all play tug and fetch with her and she has completed puppy classes. She knows the basics and we have taught her to be comfortable with being handled, preventing resource guard, and other basic trainings for puppies.

Kona’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

She loves any type of squeaker toys. I have a toy that you can hold on one end and the other end has a squeaker attached (almost like a cat toy), and it can be tugged. That toy gets her excited and is great for playing indoors or if it is a rainy day. She loves all types of food and does not discriminate. As of right now, I have her on a blue buffalo puppy kibble. She also likes cheese and chicken for when we do her training.

Cute Kona Story:

I have a peek a boo toy that has squirrels in it and Kona is suppose to fetch them out. After she got them out she sticks her head in the hole and continues to walk around and play with it but she cannot see where she is going. It was super adorable and she still likes to do that with toys that she can poke her head in.

Why is Kona Being Rehomed?

I am having some housing issues with keeping my pet. I also have a heavier work load and timing is not great with my pet’s schedule. It is hard to take care of her even after I hired a person to come watch her in the middle of the day. My morning and night routines are irregular and I do not live with my family so it is difficult to ask others to help me watch her.

Kona’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I am looking for a warm and loving household that will provide Kona with a lot of mental and physical exercise. She learns very quickly and is very smart.

Additional Comments:

Kona is a very smart puppy and is in the middle of training and being socialized. She is still very young and need things to be continously reinforced. But she understands what we want and is easily trainable with treats. I know she is capable of being an amazing companion for a family that can give her more time than I can.
