We adopted Jackson (rehomed) on Saturday, Jan 21, 2017.  He’s a love and my husband I love him dearly.   I will send a picture(s) of him.

Hi, My name is Jackson!

I am a handsome and healthy male Golden Retriever / Labrador Retriever mix Dog. I am 5.5 years old and weigh 60 pounds. I live in Renton, Washington, near Seattle. I am neutered, up to date on shots, micro-chipped, house broken, loyal and very loving.

I am looking for the best new home ever! I need to be placed in a very loving home with people who have tons of time to spend with me. I have some anxiety issues, so I need lots of exercise, a very solid routine, and confident owners who can help me feel confident myself. I get along well with most other dogs, and cats too. I am not a good choice for families with children under the age of 12.

Please read all about me below, and if you have room in your heart and home for a wonderful dog like me, please offer me the loving home I need and very much deserve today!

Jackson’s Current Home Environment

We live in a single family home with fenced backyard. We are a young professional couple with a toddler. We both work away from the home for 8+ hours/day so Jack spends a good amount of time home alone (sometimes inside, sometimes outside). Unfortunately, he’s not getting enough exercise given our schedules and we’d hope his new owner could spend more time walking with him, or throwing a ball in the backyard to help him w/ his anxiety. While we have a toddler and Jack does really well w/ him – we think Jack would be less anxious if he was not around children and/or chaos or loud sounds.

Jackson’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

We feed jack Jack a middle of the line dog food called Hill’s Science Diet which we purchase on amazon.com.

Cute Jackson Story:

Jack gets extremely excited when his favorite people come home from vacation or work trips – he loves people. He also loves other dogs as long as they aren’t too aggressive. He has a best friend that is a miniature poodle who he adores and loves to play chase with.

Why is Jackson Being Rehomed?

Jack’s anxiety has become too much for us. We know he needs more 1:1 time w/ his owners, more walks, and more exercise and love. Our work schedules have become too much to provide Jack w/ the care he needs. In addition, over the last 2 years, Jack has started to nip people (mostly always men) – this is out of fear and we feel if Jack has more attention and care, he can work past this behavior. It hasn’t been an issue since he’s been on his medication but we still take precautionary measures by putting him outside or using a soft rubber muzzle when we have guests over that Jack has not met before. He has warmed up to several men in our family and does just fine w/ all extended family members now. But, it did take some time to introduce Jack slowly to these people so someone who entertains frequently w/ large groups in their home would not be a good fit for Jack.

Jackson’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I think Jack would do well in a calm consistent home and with someone who has a good amount time to spend with him.

Additional Comments:

We’d love if Jack’s new owner could send us a photo or email us with a couple updates over the first few months – just a quick message to let us know how things are progressing.
