Gideon loves people, and likes to attach himself to one special human, whom he will adore above all. He likes to play with his cute little stuffed toys, and is house broken and crate trained.
Gideon is only 8, which is quite young for a small, mixed breed dog. He is very healthy, neutered and up to date on shots. He will be rehomed with supplies.
Gideon’s owner is hoping to find him a loving home in which he will be cherished, and kept safe, happy and healthy. She is concerned that with her busy work schedule requiring extensive travel, Gideon is not able to receive the time, attention and care he needs and very much deserves. He is home alone far too much, or in a boarding facility.
He is such a loving little dog, and will make a lucky dog lover the perfect friend. He loves to cuddle, and is used to sleeping on his owner’s bed, curled up in his blanket.

Personality
Gideon is barely reaching the senior years, but that means he has calmed and doesn’t require near as much exercise as he used to. He is happy to be near someone and will latch on to a friend with everything he has in him. He is full of love and enjoys snagging t-shirts or shoes of his beloved human friends – and not to tear or chew anything up, it’s a sign of affection. He likes to cuddle with them and sleep with them.
He also loves to have a little teddy bear or other small toy to snuggle and sleep with. He is sweet and loving. Gideon does have a timid nature and eases in to situations with new people with ears and tail tucked. He has always been this way – I got him when he was 8 months old. He sleeps on top of my comforter, but with his own blanket, at the foot of my bed. He will chase a ball, but doesn’t like to do this outside for whatever reason. He will play indoors with all kinds of dog toys, but doesn’t require doing so very much.
Food and Diet
Gideon is currently on Hills Science Diet
I feed Gideon Hills Science Diet – a little in the morning, not quite a cup. And I offer him a little less than a cup in the evening as well, around 5pm.
Reason For Rehoming
I have 3 sons, who have all been very helpful with Gideon; however, 2 of my oldest sons have grown and moved out within the past couple of years. I am divorced and I’m a single parent with a 12 year old. My job is now requiring travel 2 or 3 times a year, plus my 12 year old is becoming more active in soccer and other sports – and it’s just the 2 of us taking care of Gideon (and my other dog, Diesel, that I also have to rehome).
Additionally, my mother and father live 10 minutes away and my mother was recently diagnosed with a lung disease. The dogs can’t be around her, and I am frequently making trips to help her and my father (who is recovering from colon cancer). It is simply not fair for the dogs to be in their kennel or to be boarded so frequently. Gideon deserves to be in a home where he can have more attention and time.
