Hi, My name is Funky!

Tuxedo cat for adoption san diego
I love my tummy rubs!

Feline Funky…? You need this funny, adorable Tuxedo cat!

Funky is such a charming little kitty. She is very tiny at just 6 pounds, and has the prettiest black and white markings. She is just 3 years old and very healthy. She has been spayed, and is up to date on her shots. Such a clean, friendly and well behaved little girl! Vet records will be supplied to her new family.

Her owner, who loves her so much and who has given her a great home since she was a kitten, has been blind-sided by the news that his elderly father (in Minnesota) has taken a bad fall. He is having to move back to Minnesota on very short notice. As much as he would love to bring Funky along with him, he will be staying with his sister and her husband, both of whom have severe cat allergies.  It’s just not possible to take Funky along with him.

He is dearly hoping to find Funky the type of home she needs and deserves. She is a real people loving cat. She greets you at the door like a dog, and loves to spend time with you. She doubles as an alarm clock, because she will wake you up in the morning when it is time for her breakfast.

She is great at making you smile, particularly when she flips on her back for tummy rubs. She is so gentle and sweet, and has never been known to scratch or bite. Her litter box habits are impeccable, and she is just a very well behaved, companionable furry friend.

Funky can be shy when it comes to other dogs and cats. She would best for a home without other pets, however very cat-friendly dogs and cats may be fine. Funky is good with children.

Please offer her a loving, forever home (or a temporary foster home until we can find her a permanent family). This is a sweet cat that will definitely leave paw prints on your heart!

Funky’s Personality

I love that she greets me and meows when i get home. She is vocal when she wants attention but is otherwise very quite. I love that she does not wake me up to get fed or to get attention, but will wait for me to get up first. I love when she flips on her back for play time. She will swat and nibble, but she does not scratch or bite. I love that she does not get mad and pee in odd places, I have heard horror stories about that.

Funky’s Current Home Environment

Funky has lived in several different apartments. Currently, she is in a small 1 bedroom, but she has been in 3-4 bedroom apartments in the past. Since I live on the second floor, I put a pet door in the screen door leading out to the porch so she can come in and out as she pleases. She has a large cat tree that she enjoys.

Funky’s Current Family:

Due to a divorce, she has been living with me for over a year now. She is always friendly to visitors.

Funky’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

She is not picky about food. She eats mainly dry food (Friskies) and enjoys her can of wet food (Friskies) on Wednesday and Sunday. She has several toy mice that she chases around, and there is a wire toy with small cardboard tubes at the end that she loves to chase.

Cute Funky Story:

Funky knows the sound of my car, and the porch faces the parking lot. She always comes out on the porch to greet me and meow when I get home.

Why is Funky Being Rehomed?

Due to an injury, my Dad sustained, I am moving back to Minnesota to take care of my parents. My sister is 4 1/2 months pregnant and both she and her husband are allergic to cats. Since she had to go through invitro-fertilization I do not want to cause any issues with her. I will be staying at my parent’s house and they visit frequently. The movers will be coming on the 9th to pack everything up. I tried to find friends that would be willing to take her, but have had no luck so far.

Funky’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I would love for her to go to a good home, where her new owner(s) would enjoy her company as much as I have.
