In Loving Memory of Esther
Such sad news from Kim. Esther had to be humanely euthanized when it was discovered that she had rapidly spreading cancer. A groomer noticed that her little belly was very tight and swollen, and a visit to the vet revealed that the poor little girl was very sick and in pain.
Our hearts go out to both Kim and Marshall on the loss of this sweet little girl. We are sure she knew how much she was loved by both owners during her short time on earth.

This situation underscores how important it is to stop the unhumane and indescriminate breeding of purebred dogs in puppy mills. Esther was rescued by her original owner from a pet store, where she looked so sad and frightened, that he and his wife felt compelled to give her a good home. They realized that she needed to be in a more quiet home with owners who could give her a lot more of their time, and she was adopted by Kim, who gave her so much love.

Esther has found her forever family! This demure little Yorkie needed a very special home after having been rescued from a pet store/puppy mill. We were thrilled to hear from Kim and her husband in Trevor, WI, who opened up their hearts and home to this deserving little dog.

| I am semiretired. I work part time as a teachers aide. I live just over the border of Wisconsin about 5 miles from Antioch Illinois. My husband and I have three adult children and 4 grandchildren number 5 is on the way. We have one dog her name is Sunny and she is the gentlest sweetest yellow lab you have ever met. We had another dog that we adopted 9 years ago she was a tiny terrier mix that had a siezure disorder. She passed away a year ago and we miss her a lot. We live in a single family home with a big fenced in back yard. If we were chosen to be Esther’s new family I can promise you that she would have the best life ever. I’m sure it must be so hard for you to give her up but I think it’s really great how you are looking out for her best interest. |

Hi, My name is Esther!
I am a purebred Female Yorkshire terrier Dog. I am 4 and weigh 7 pounds. I live in Chicago, Illinois. I am very healthy, up to date on my shots, spayed and micro-chipped. I am not fully potty trained yet.
I am a very special, special needs dog. I am so sweet, but very shy. I was rescued by my owners from a puppy mill, where I was kept in a cage as a breeder dog for the first 4 years of my life. Even though I endured this horrible existence, I am still very loving – but I am still learning how to be a pampered pet.
I love to lay in your lap and be snuggled and caressed. That is my favorite thing in the world. I am good with other pets, and children, although my shyness keeps me from wanting to be boisterous and play with them. I am learning, though!
My owners are well on their way to potty training me; I use pee pads on command. They are hoping that an owner who can spend more time with me will be able to fully house train me.
My owners love me so much and want the very best for me. They are both busy career people with kids in lots of activities. Their schedule does not allow them enough time for me, and I am spending far too much time in my crate. They want me to experience the freedom of being a cherished house dog, and are hoping to find a retired dog lover with lots of time to spend with me and a warm, welcoming lap to cuddle in.
A home with a securely fenced back yard would be the icing on the cake, however I would be fine with an apartment, too.
My owners are hoping to keep in touch with me, so hopefully that will be OK with you, too.
Please offer me the loving home I need and very much deserve today. I can’t wait to melt your heart and warm your lap!

Esther’s Current Home Environment
We live in a single family home with 2 children in the city. My wife and i both work and our kids go to school, it is a quiet home. We have another dog, a poodle who we rescued years ago. They both get along very well.
Esther’s Current Family:
I am a psychologist. MY wife is a psychiatrist. My son is junior in high school and my daughter is in 7th grade. We are a warm, loving family. We all feel that esther needs to be with someone or a family who is home more. She is not pottie trained and needs to be with someone who can be around to help her with this. We were not informed she was used as a breeder dog. We feel she needs to be around someone who can not only train her. but attend to her more regularly during the day. We hate having her cooped up in her cage all day…see,s a repetition of the past.
Esther’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
She primarily enjoys sitting on your lap. She is very content, calm and quiet.
Cute Esther Story:
When i saw her for the first time, she was sitting down, shivering in the cormer of a puppy store. It was the saddest thing you ever saw. She looked so scared. I had to rescue her. Again, we were not told she was used for breeding. She calmed right down once home, staying close to us, explring and whining when we went to another room.
Why is Esther Being Rehomed?
As said above, WE FEEL ESTHER NEEDS TO BE IN A HOME WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE HOME ALL DAY. She is not pottie trained, although she uses pee pads. This is hard for the family and esther. We feel she needs more than we can give her and that she deserves more. We did not realize all that was involved. With that said, we are taking very good care of her and love her very much. We updated her vaccines, gave her dental work (took out 8 of her teeth!) and have given her full ohysicals, They did not tell us, but when we gor her she had a benign tumor removed. So…she is as healthy as they come now Essentially, the pottie training is the big thing. We just do not have the time to devote to her around this and know that she needs more.
Esther’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Someone who can be physically available to esther to help pottie train her and care for her on a daily basis.

So, this is very hard for us. We feel badly about it but know that she needs more.
