Daisy Senior Red Collie For Adoption in San Antonio

Daisy senior red collie for adoption in san antonioSan Antonio, Texas – Daisy is such a good girl. She is a purebred Red Collie with a heart of pure gold. And speaking of gold, she is a “Golden Oldie” at 14 years of age. Daisy is very healthy, although she does have a slight limp as a result of an ACL ligament tear she sustained earlier in her life.

This sweet dog is so very smart, devoted and well behaved. She loves people of all ages and sizes, and gets along very well with other pets. She is spayed, up to date on shots and very obedient and well trained.

Daisy’s owner is dearly hoping to find her the very best home in which to live out the rest of her days. Having remarried recently, she and her new husband differ greatly on their idea of how dogs should live and be treated. He has insisted that Daisy live as an outdoor dog with his German Shepherd, and the owner feels very strongly that this is not a good situation for Daisy at all.

She is dearly hoping to find some kind hearted dog lovers who have room in their home and hearts to provide a safe, happy, quiet and loving home for Daisy. She deserves it!

Daisy is so loving. She adds immeasurable joy to life, and helps you appreciate the wonder of every day. Despite her age, she still loves to go for a walk, and is also content to snuggle up with her favorite human.

Please offer this sweet senior the home she needs and deserves today!

Personality

Daisy is a lovable, “lap” dog. She loves being petted, brushed, and having any type of attention. She simply wants to please!! She was initially brought into my home when I had 3 other dogs and 5 cats and she played well with all of them (she prefers cats!) She is not the best walking on a lease…she like to pull me, but she eventually slows down. She understands basic commands such as sit, stay. I can put her food dish on the floor and she will not start eating until I tell her it is ok. She was totally house broken, but may need to be retrained since she has been outside for over a year.

Reason For Rehoming

I rescued Daisy from an animal shelter in 2008 and she was ~ 6 years old. Daisy was an inside dog for 6 years, I recently remarried and my husband prefers no dogs inside. We have made her an outside dog (along with his german shepherd) and I am having a hard time with this. I prefer her to have the opportunity to be back inside where she can receive the love and attention she needs. I cannot provide this in the setting she is in now.
