Bruno - american pitbull terrier adoption houston 2Bruno is love on four legs. This very devoted, sweet, intelligent and well behaved 4 year old dog is an American Pitbull Terrier. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and very healthy. Bruno is perfectly house broken and leash trained. He is very good with children of all sizes, and gets along well with other dogs.

Bruno could be aptly described as a “licking machine”. He loves to lick people and other dogs to show his love. He is anything-but-aggressive – the perfect family dog who loves people of all sizes and ages, and is very accepting of strangers.

Bruno’s owner loves him so much. She has had to make the very difficult decision to find him a new home due to her circumstances of being a brand new mom, and simply not having the time or energy to give Bruno the exercise and attention he needs and very much deserves. She worries that he is not happy, and wants the very best for him. Bruno’s owner would love to keep in touch with him in his new home, but only if the new owners are comfortable with it.

Bruno - american pitbull terrier adoption houston Bruno is a big ole baby who loves snuggling more than anything.

Bruno would make such a wonderful addition to any happy family with the time to give him attention and exercise. He is so very devoted and loving. He’s in no way aggressive, but will bark to let you know when someone is at the door. He provides love and companionship to everyone in the home, and works very hard to make you feel loved and appreciated.

If you have room in your heart and home for this wonderful dog, please offer Bruno a loving forever home today. He is looking for a home with a securely fenced back yard, and folks with lots of time to spend with him. He is a dog that gives far more than he gets, and is sure to add immeasureable love, joy, laughter and companionship to your home.

Personality

Bruno is an extremely loving and goofy personality. He loves humans more than other dogs and tries to lick every person that he sees. If he has the choice between a dog bone or getting to lick someone, he would choose to lick. He is trained to wait and cry at a window or door when he needs to go outside, and he wants his owner with him as much as possible throughout the day. Once he gets his energy out he enjoys napping and cuddling around the house for the rest of the day. He will bark if he hears the mailman or someone at the door, but otherwise uses whining or crying to communicate his needs. His relationship with other dogs is less reliable than with humans because he likes to go up and lick other dog’s faces and they don’t always appreciate that, but overall is able to play with other dogs if the owner’s dynamic is peaceful. The only time he has growled or gotten aggressive is when he is competing with another dog for his owner’s attention. He has always slept in my bed, but as of recently he has enjoyed sleeping in his new doggie bed in the same room.

Reason For Rehoming

I am single and just had a baby 4 months ago. During pregnancy and the last few months I have tried to show attention but have been unable to run/play/walk with him as much and it has made me incredibly sad and guilty. I have had him since he was a puppy and he requires a consistent routine with lots of exercise to keep him calm. I don’t have anyone to watch the baby while I run with him everyday and he is becoming hyper and anxious. He has not shown any aggression at all towards the baby but I worry that the inevitable neglect will cause him to either become jealous of the baby or cause him to misbehave and have further separation anxiety.
