Personality

She is seriously a super sweet dog. She loves people and loves to cuddle. I don’t know what is required of a service dog, but there are many times that I thought she would be good at that. 90% of the time she is a very mellow dog and just lies around (preferably next to us).
Her bad traits that might steer someone away… she barks a lot when someone comes to the door, she can sound ferocious at times, and of course the worst part is the potty training.
Again, I honestly believe if someone was able to take her out and encourage her to go potty every morning and every night before bed that she would be okay. IT would really be the owner that was trained, not the dog. Sadly, we are just running too much with 6 kids. She has never bitten anyone, but I do not trust her with little ones in her face. I would also not trust her with a little one disturbing her sleep or cuddling with someone. That said, I have always been smart about my little ones and we never had an issue. They are taught how to treat her and she has been fine with them with the exception of about 3 times in 6 years. Those three instances resulted in her growling or turning her head quickly where I was concerned, but nothing ever happened. She also tends to not always recognize us from a distance. That means she may bark at us until she sees it is us. And even though she gets a long fine with our other dog, she tends to turn away from big dogs faster.

Reason For Rehoming Brigett the Bichon Frise

We have a large family and I just can’t keep up with it anymore. I made the mistake of holding onto her for 6 more years because everyone loves her, but she has continued to pee throughout the house. When the carpet smelled so bad that I had to replace it, she peed on it the first night. It’s not fair to keep her in the gated area and I really believe her problem can be cured with the right family. The owner will have to be trained, but I think if they have a small family or no kids (so that she is the kid) then she will be fine. She is super sweet and cuddly.

Meet Brigett, the cuddle-bug Bichon Frise from Newbury Park, ready to leap into your heart and snuggle up on your couch!  This 7-year-old fluff ball is a bundle of love, always eager to shower you with affection and perfectly content being your personal chill-out companion. Despite her royal demeanor, our furry friend has a quirky side – she’s a chatty greeter to visitors (her bark’s worse than her bite!) and she’s hoping to find a patient human who’ll play the role of potty coach with love and consistency.

If you’re a cozy-home connoisseur with room for one more, or a small family looking for a fur-kid to spoil, Brigett’s your girl – read on to discover how you can make her dream of a forever home come true!
