[margin10]

Abby has found her forever home! She is now the pampered feline companion of Stella and her husband, a nice young couple for whom Abby will be their first pet ever. They are so excited to add this vivacious young cat to their home, and are looking forward to playing with her, brushing and cuddling her. Congratulations on your great new home, Abby!

Here’s how our rehoming team presented Abby to attract her new family:

Abby loves to watch nature shows on tv!

What a charmer! Abby is a small sized cat with a very big personality! This long haired white cat with black markings is just 5 years old, spayed and very healthy.

She is perfectly litter trained and very well behaved. Abby loves people and is about the most playful and friendly cat you will find. She needs a home without other cats. She has never been around dogs.

Please offer this cute little kitty a loving forever home today. She is sure to leave tiny paw prints on your heart!

Hi, My name is Abby!

I am a Black/White tuxedo; long hair Female Domestic shorthair Cat. I am 5 and weigh 8.5 lb. I live in Los Angeles, CA.

I am a tiny circus performer – and a real show stopper! I am gorgeous, both in looks and personality. I am a real people cat and love nothing better than being the center of your world. I am so entertaining – I can make even the most boring household task seem like fun. I love to play and make my owner laugh!

Here are the things she loves most about me:

  • Her affectionate nature. She stitches on me, tries licking me, purrs freely.
  • Her talking. She likes to talk to her humans.
  • Her playfulness. She loves playing, whether it’s lazily on her back with a stick toy, or energetically chasing a laser pointer, or flipping around on her cat post like she’s a circus performer.
  • Her social nature. She wants to see us, hang out with us, and be wherever we are.
  • Her stubbornness. Sometimes, she’ll get this look like she’s thinking, “I know you’re telling me no, but I WANT to…” and then she’ll reluctantly follow orders.

My owner loves me so very much! Unfortunately she has had to make the very difficult choice to rehome me. I don’t play well with other cats, and her older cat, Duncan is being terrorized by me. I can’t help it! I love to play, and he seems like a big cat toy to me! For his safety and well-being, she realizes that it is best to find me a home where I can be the only cat. I’m fine with this decision – as long as my new family will love me lots and give me plenty of attention and playtime.

I would be best suited for a single, couple or family with kids old enough to be gentle and respect me. I would be a great companion for a young girl or boy older than 10.

Please offer me a loving forever home today. I can’t wait to purr and play my way into your heart.

Abby’s Current Home Environment

A little about us and our lifestyle. My boyfriend and I live together. We both work outside the home. We rarely entertain in our home — mostly it’ll just be friends or family for a few hours. We have had friends stay the weekend several times, but that’s about it for the social calendar in our home. We’re generally home on the weekends, though we’re always gone for a few hours here and there. When we take trips, we have a petsitter come in and spend time with the cats each day, feeding and playing with them.

Abby’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Some of Abby’s favorite things:
— Her toys on a stick. She drags those things around like they’re security blankets. And those are usually the ones that end up in your lap. And yet, she’s only okay at playing. She plays a little awkwardly… and sometimes chooses to play lying down.
— Me (and soon you). Her human is genuinely her favorite thing. And she’s able to take on more than one human in her heart. Since we’ve moved to our new place, she’s started to treat my boyfriend like he belongs to her too.
— Stairs. It’s not a requirement, but our new house has stairs and she really does love sprinting up and down them.
— Food. I said I’d get back to the “hoping I’ll feed her” comment. Here it is. She had to go on a diet in August. She’s now down to 8.5 pounds from 11, so she’s good. But I haven’t yet switched her back to regular food. I’ll tell you more below.
— Her fountain. She has a plug-in water fountain that she loves drinking from and washing her feet. She ends up washing her chest hair too because of the way she leans over it. It’s super cute.
— Her cat post. She plays on it like she’s doing circus acrobatic routines. And she sleeps on it in the most adorably awkward positions.
— Rolling around on her back. She loves to roll around on her back and often, you can get her to roll over on command. “Roll, Abby. Roll!!”

Why is Abby Being Rehomed?

Abby moved into my house 5 years ago as a tiny, 5-pound ball of confidence, just a few days after my cat Lily died unexpectedly of cancer. Duncan (my other cat) and Lily had moved in with me at the same time and lived together for 7 years. Then Abby came in. She was young, super energetic, and thought passive Duncan was the best cat toy a girl could have. Strangely, he didn’t want to be a toy. He wanted to chill and be left alone.
We established a fragile agreement of truce, but lately it’s getting harder and harder to keep them peaceful. She’s not an aggressive cat, per se, but he growls at her and then gets meek, and she just can’t turn down a challenge so she chases and jumps on him. I came to this incredibly hard and deeply emotional decision to find her a new home because she is such a strong, sweet, but also possessive girl.
She loves big and fiercely and thinks everything is hers. She’s not a great sharer. So she deserves to be the center of attention for a loving owner. I can’t give her that because Duncan lives here too. I have thought about this for years, actually, and resisted. But Abby living as a single cat is what’s best for her. And if you’re looking for a really great cat, she’s it.

Abby’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A single cat home with a person or people who will love Abby and spend time with her. Probably more quiet a home than not — I can’t imagine her living with a bunch of kids and in a household with people coming and going all the time. She might be fine — it would just be different.
